If anyone is wondering whether I have fallen away from the faith by distributing Bach, the answer is no.
I have role models and not everyone is a musical genius for the millennium like Chet Atkins, able to do this just like that after getting up.
The rest of us have to practise, and a little music theory doesn’t hurt. Although you shouldn’t overdo it.
Something artistic, then. Mr Atkins can’t just play that on the guitar, which is already magic in itself. He also wrote and arranged it. No idea how he does it.
Counterpart – second voice
Undead service for guitarists. I once notated a piece by J.S.Bach in tabs. Not because it’s so beautiful, but because it’s a great way to learn and practice counterpoint.
This is the second voice, and we all use it all the time. Harmony follows rules. The nice thing about rules is that you can and should break them. But to do that, you first have to know them.
